Last June 17, 2016, Educating For Life invited all Homeschooling Moms from different places for a coffee and chat. The food and venue were sponsored by Career Academy Asia at Rockwell, Makati City.
"Career Academy Asia offers Senior High School and International Degrees, Diploma and Advanced Diploma Courses in Arts, Designs and Specialized Management". Mr. Nonie de la Fuente, Headmaster from CAA gave us a bit of information about their offerings.

After the quick talk, each mom was given a chance to introduce herself and share anything about their seasons of homeschooling. It is amazing to know the different reasons which led each of us to this journey. Nonetheless, we all want the best for our kids and we know that homeschooling is the best for them!

I attended this event along with my homeschool co-op sisters to get connected with other homeschooling moms and take a breather.

I was inspired by families who homeschooled their kids from preschool to high school and Lord willing, I would want to homeschool my kids as well until high school. I don't want to let them go early and I want to keep them as much as possible. When I told my son that when he reached college, he needs to go to a big school or a University, he protested saying he wants to homeschool. But I have to explain that college is not something Mom can teach.
After the meet and greet, we had our free coffee and snacks prepared by the Throwing-A-Party. Then on to our endless sharings and chikas. There are so much learning and encouragement from Moms who are very passionate about homeschooling.

It was very encouraging and comforting to know that we share most of the sentiments and burden as homeschoolers, that we are not alone in this road. As more families are becoming open and embrace this idea of home education, parents are becoming more intentional to their kids and becoming their primary influencers.
